The importance of taking a nap

Why don’t we do it? Companies want their employees to give them all they got but they don’t understand that a 9 to 5 job is very stressful. We get burn out, in the middle of the afternoon. Hours go by and we experience brain fog and become less interested in our job. We are surrounded by problems and unhealthy life habits. Taking a moment to close your eye for 30 minutes can improve your,
1- Health habits: If we are well rested we tend to make better health choices. You know they say, “don’t go grocery shopping when you are hungry?” Well I will have to apply “don’t go grocery shopping when you are tire”. If we shop while tire, this will take us to make rational decision and because we are tire, we are going to fill up our cart we easy dinners in boxes, full of sugar and sodium. This is not the energy and food we want to fuel our bodies with. We need green and color, not boxes full of ingredients we can’t pronounce.
2- Your humor: When you are tire, we tend to be grouchy and don’t want anyone around. We get easy irritated and emotional.
3- Bring down your stress levels: we are all pump up for something that’s going on at work, freeze your mind and disconnect and you will be able to see the situation with a different prospective. Some studies show, reducing stress level reduces people death of heart disease.
4-Help you re set and re focus and give your brain a boost. It helps on decision making and your brain will retain more information. When we sleep, we release growth hormone (that’s is why babies sleep so much), the remedy to cortisol which boosts our immune system, aids in muscle repair and weight loss.
5-Healing, it gives your brain a chance to reset your body and it gives it a change to heal itself.
Taking a power nap will help tremendously on your day. So, talk to your boss and see if they agree.

Try it out, if you can’t nap during the work week. Try to catch some zzz during the weekend and let me know how you feel. Please leave me a comment below. I will love your opinion on this subject. Thank you! Happy home, healthy heart. We can do this one step at the time.
